Your First Visit
Before your first appointment, I will have already gone through your health history, prior blood work, medications, and any concerns you’ve shared. During our meeting we’ll thoroughly explore your health history, current concerns and talk about a plan to move forward. This may include an initial treatment plan or more testing if necessary .

Laboratory Testing
Get clarity on what’s going on. Part of uncovering the root cause is looking to see where the problem is from a bio-chemical perspective. We may use both routine and specialty lab testing, such as advanced hormone testing, stool tests, autoimmune panels, and environmental toxins testing.

Get the full picture of your health with an in-depth intake, root-cause evaluation, and personalized starting plan.

Prior to this appointment, Dr. Nykin will have taken time to review and study your personal health history and records. This appointment will build onto an initial assessment, and delve deeper into your health concerns, symptoms, and medical history. We will begin to piece together a clearer understanding of the root cause of your concerns. We will discuss and order functional lab tests if appropriate.
After your First Appointment you will:
Have a clearer understanding of the systems that are primarily contributing to your health imbalance
Receive initial recommendations and instructions for completing lab work if indicated.
Follow-Up & Treatment Plan Visit

Prior to this appointment, all lab work will be completed with results ready for assessment. We will review any lab results in detail and outline a roadmap for our treatment approach, and establish clear health objectives. We will thoroughly discuss a treatment plan and explore therapeutic options.
After this appointment, you will:

Focused Check-Ins

For quick troubleshooting or updates in between major care plan reviews.

Focused Check-In Visits (30 minutes)
This shorter follow-up is perfect for quick progress reviews, targeted treatment updates, or addressing new symptoms that don’t require a full session. It’s a great option when we just need to touch base, make adjustments, or review recent lab results.
Check-ins are typically scheduled every 4–9 weeks depending on your individual care plan, progress, and support needs.

Meeting with a new healthcare provider may understandably bring up some anxiety. Here are some frequently asked questions to help you navigate the experience.

Yes! Dr. Nykin is set up to accept and process HSA/FSA cards

Dr. Nykin currently operates a cash-based practice. All services rendered must be paid for out of pocket at the time of service. Payment plans can be arranged upon request.

-Log in to your virtual video call via the patient portal.
-Review all of your completed intake questionnaires and pertinent health history.
-Identify your health goals and expectations.
-Dr. Nykin will ask you specific questions about your health concerns and discuss her initial medical assessment and insights about your current health condition.
-You will discuss options and suggestions for further testing and treatment.
Immediately after the appointment, you will receive a written report of Dr. Nykin’s initial medical assessment and findings based on the review of your past medical history and your new patient interview, as well as an outline of the next steps in your care plan.

Dr. Nykin utilizes an array of specialty and functional lab tests to assess your unique biochemistry and obtain important information surrounding the root cause of your health concerns. Many of these tests do not require a blood draw and can be collected in the comfort of your home.

We have partnered with Rupa Health to facilitate the collection and processing of all lab work. After your initial visit, you will receive an email from Rupa Health containing your lab orders and instructions for collection and payment options. Kits will be shipped directly to your home! If a blood draw is necessary, you will receive recommendations for phlebotomists in your area, and detailed instructions on how to coordinate that as well. Most lab work is not covered by insurance, however, Rupa Health does offer payment plans.

Functional lab tests can range anywhere between $100-$1,000+ depending on the nature and complexity of each lab, and the nature and complexity of your health condition.
An average cost is somewhere around $300-$800 and is not typically covered by insurance, however, payment plans are available. Dr. Nykin is consistently mindful of her recommendations and will consider your individual budget and discuss the lab costs during your visit.
